For all the towns reputation as the nightlife capital of Thailand, Pattaya has a good number of daytime attractions for the tourist.

The local temples, sea food restaurants and animal centres give visitors plenty to see

Pattaya Water Park: The Water Park is part of the Pattaya Park Resort, where there is also a Jump Tower, revolving restaurants and an observation deck on the 55th floor.

Compared with many water parks this is relatively small, but has slides and water attractions for the family. The Water Park is located near the beach at Jomtien.

Thai Cookery Classes: Thai cuisine has become increasingly popular in the last few years and lots of visitors love he idea of returning home with some genuine Thai cooking skills. In Pattaya the is the Happy Home Cookery School which has classes for different levels starting at 1 through to 5. Prices range from 1,000 Baht for the first class. School is just off Central Road, near the TOPS supermarket.

Sanctuary of Truth: This is a very new addition to the scene in Pattaya, located in Soi 12 on the northern side of town off Naklau-Pattaya Rd. The structure is made entirely of wood to a Thai design and has a religious philosophy aspect to the construction.

Referred to as a castle, it is certainly spectacular and lit to brilliant effect at night. There are horse drawn carriages to take visitors to the site, and once there they can see organized dolphin shows twice a day, as well as take tours on elephants and enjoy speedboat trips. Evening entertainment has Thai Dance displays and fire eating performances.

Sri Racha Tiger Zoo: The zoo has been established for quite some time, and as part of its objective, tries to safeguard tigers from extinction. There is the customary use of animals as entertainment, but the zoo is a good place to visit and has more than just tigers.

In the park, which covers about 100 acres, 200 Bengal tigers and 100,000 crocodiles, so there are plenty of sights to be seen. The trip to the zoo takes around 30 minutes from Pattaya, and is located off the main Route 7 Pattaya – Bangkok highway, near Chonburi and Sriracha. Opening times are from 8am to 6pm daily.

Big Buddha and Pattaya Hill: Between Pattaya and Jomtien is the hill which provides a good viewpoint , 300 foot high up, overlooking the long stretches of beach and the Pattaya town. What was once a white painted Buddha statue is now a gold Buddha, and looks the more impressive for its makeover.

Baht buses ( a pick up with 2 long bench seats) operate between Pattaya and Jomtien, so its an easy place to get to. Motorbike taxies or rented bikes are other options to get to the top of the hill.
